The Company not only encourages its employees to participate in sports but also has adopted community sports as one of the key strategies to empower youth in rural areas. By organising sports tournaments in and around its area of operation, the Company intends to develop sporting talents in both rural and urban areas. Every year, Tata Steel organises community football, athletics, archery and hockey tournaments to promote the budding sporting talents.

In all its operational sites in the mining locations, the company runs Feeder Centres to hone the sporting skills of rural youth in archery, athletics and football.
